Watercolor: Lighthouse Point

Using the watercolor medium of red, cobalt blue, green, yellow, brown and black colors, I painted a scenery of a Light house.

Selection of colors creates well the evening sunset atmosphere.

In The Middle of Nowhere

Here's an experiment about space, or emo-ness as some would like to call it. Sketches that are spatial can reflect loneliness, solitude. peace. calmness and a sort of emo feeling...

I personally love this piece that I sketched.. Every time I look at it, it gives a kind of calming effect.

Here are some photographs that reflects the same feelings.... in the middle of nowhere..

And here's my middle of nowhere masterpiece:

Wooden Dock

Textures are fascinating to play with and it can be especially challenging when it comes to doing it monochrome. Wood grains, bark, ply was something I experimented in this piece.

Niarbyl Bay - Isle of Man

This location is on the Isle of Man, on the west coast, just south of the town Peel. Here a few white cottages nestles beneath the cliffs just a few yards from the sea.

I chose to draw the curving sea wall because the wall takes the eyes in towards the cottages. The upturn boat adds to the scene of the bay.

Here's a bird's eye view of Niarbyl Bay:

And my focus sketch of the Niarbyl Bay:

Santorini, Greece

Greece villas are known for their white walls...

Tricky part about pen sketching is a landscape that has a white main motive...
To do so, the surrounding of the main motive has to bring out the main motive...
Usually is the main motive that is sketched in detail... now is quite the opposite.

Premaquid Point Lighthouse

Lighthouses.... they are interesting places to draw because of the blend of nature and architectures.

Here's my choice of lighthouse;

Grand Canal, Venice

The Grand Canal in Venice, is not an alien landmark...
Landmark of romance and love....

As I was thinking about this place pictures of the boat man sailing down the canal with a row of beautifully architectured buildings on my right and left... it all seems so perfect but yet so commonly pictured.

So to take things to a twist, I got a picture of a Lamp post which will be the main object and the buildings as the background.

Check it Out:
